FRINGE WORLD is WA’s top performer

The results are in: FRINGE WORLD Festival 2017 was the top arts event in Western Australia this year.

This year’s festival was the biggest box office earner of any arts event in the state and delivered more than $8.6 million to the pockets of artists who took part. What’s more, for every $1 invested by the WA Government, $77 was returned to the WA economy.

The 2017 Festival was the third biggest fringe festival in the world, with 711 events at 147 venues. A staggering 750,000 people attended free and ticketed events across nearly 5,000 individual performances.

FRINGE WORLD audiences say that not only does the festival make Perth a more vibrant place, but they feel safer out in the city at night and more eager to attend arts events in the future.

The 2018 FRINGE WORLD Festival will be held from 26 January to 25 February.
