Freo Royale in the Port City

At Freo Royale, Fringe events make the most of location, history and the artists who either call it home or are visiting just for the Festival.

Here’s some great spots and events you should check out.

Ghosts of Fremantle.

Fremantle Prison

Over the years, the Crown Theatre at Fremantle Prison has seen theatre shows, concerts, film nights and even riots. Now it’s hosting FRINGE WORLD events like The Ghosts of Fremantle, a multimedia exhibition by Genrefonix that features original horror music, soundscapes alongside the Prison’s own ghosts.

Maritime Museum

Perched on the Indian Ocean's shore, the WA Maritime Museum is symbolic of Fremantle’s past, present and future as a coastal city and port. It’s also a beautiful spot for some Fringe events. Children will love to get their hands on some new friends at Wriggly Reptiles and Harbour Sundays are perfect for the whole family and FREE!

Fremantle Comedy Factory.

The Fremantle Comedy Factory

It’s back, back, back again for another Fringe World season!

Every Thursday, Friday AND Saturday night in February, the Sail and Anchor Pub is offering a variety of shows from some of the best local, national and international comedy acts around.

Voted Best Comedy Venue in 2016 by the comedy community, the Fremantle Comedy Factory has been running a weekly show since 2014 showcasing the growing talents Perth has to offer.

Acts include Best Comedy WA award winner Cameron McLaren with Dardy Mcfly, and Fringe World Best Comedy Nominees Ben Darsow and Colin Ebsworth, who returns with the aptly titled Jokes Magotes.

Don’t miss local favourites, the mommy’s of comedy - The Motherhood, when Thursday nights turn into HERSDAY, the only totally female comedy line up showcasing the incredibly talented ladies of FRINGE WORLD.

Get in early to check out the view from the balcony and for a great meal and a refreshing beer this Summer.

Steampunk Cabaret.

Big tops, Steampunk and the Obscure

Women are also tackling the circus heights in Ladies of the Big Top, Perth's finest selection of babes, broads, and chicks with tricks.

Be prepared for a tantalizing night of gravity-defying acts, amusing antics and unhinged interludes in this cabaret-style aerial show.

Steampunk Cabaret will get you feeling a little historical and perhaps a little whimsical at Creatures Next Door.

It's a piston pumping, steamy reworking of 21st century music with a tincture of magic, modicum of mirth and a hint of horror.

If you’re not afraid of things getting a little awkward, why not try First Date The Musical – where absolutely anything can happen.

Or get to know the Port City a little better with the Obscure Tour – it's just like The Amazing Race, but weirder.
